     Leonidas John Hodges was born on 8 March 1819 at Wayne County, Indiana; Citation 1:5: 1818 in Wayne County, IN.1,2,3 He was the son of Benjamin Hodges and Jane Jenny McComb.1 Leonidas John Hodges married Nancy Caroline Reed, daughter of William Reed and Margaret McKean, on 1 August 1844 at Jackson County, Iowa.1,4 As of between 21 August 1850 and 18 July 1870, Leonidas John Hodges and Nancy Caroline Reed lived at Richland, Jackson County, Iowa This residence address is found in the census of 1850, 1860 and 1870.5 Leonidas John Hodges was a patient on 1 June 1880 at Hospital for the Insane, Washington Township, Buchanan County, Iowa.5 He died on 23 April 1887 at Independence, Buchanan County, Iowa, at age 68.5,1 He was buried after 23 April 1887 at Richland, Jackson County, Iowa.6
