According to Hodges Family History: Aileen Baird, they lived for a time on one of Olive's brother James Hodges' farms at Montana.^3,2 He was born on 14 May 1847 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.^2,4 He was the son of John Davis Foster and Elizabeth (?).¹ Samuel Scott Foster married Olive Frances Hodges, daughter of Leonidas John Hodges and Nancy Caroline Reed, on 22 January 1873.^2,5 Samuel Scott Foster died on 23 April 1931 at Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, at age 83.² He was buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.²
